A bit of history
Our co-founder, Khalil Khelah, who spent twenty-five years in the information technology field consulting and advising fortune 500 companies observed that many businesses invest heavily in software engineering but they don’t pay as much attention as they should to architecture. Khalil believed that companies would be well served to also invest in enterprise and solution architecture and develop a strategic vision and road-maps on how to create value quickly, enable new capabilities, and build an integrated technology landscape to propel growth. Just like you would not build a house without pouring a concrete foundation, software development also needs a foundation. Enterprise solution architecture is that foundation.
He saw an opportunity to bring enterprise solution architecture in general, and cloud solutions and enterprise integration in particular, to small to midsize businesses to give them the same advantages as big businesses; hence SapiensTek was born.
He also had a dream of creating a company that’s so dedicated and focused on people first and technology second. A company culture that resembles the Mayo Clinic. He was so impressed by the culture at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where the care team is so supportive of each other and truly works like a team. Team members are encouraged to ask questions and lean on each other for support and advice. He was so inspired by their compassion not only towards their patients, but also towards each other.
What’s in a name?
We are sapiens first who deliver technology solutions second, hence the name. Sapiens doing Tek. get it? … It means that we pay very close attention to human cooperation and organization, the single most important factor that allowed humans, homo sapiens, to conquer all other animals on planet Earth according to Yuval Noah Harari in his famous Homo Deus book.
We do our work with compassion, appreciation, and love for our clients!
